General Information
Tell us about the unit(s): Outpatient Post-Transplant Kidney Clinic. We are the largest living kidney donor program in the U.S. and largest deceased donor program in TX. Opening is to help manage the patients post-transplant.
- Number of Beds – 9 Post-Transplant Clinic Exam Rooms (23 total rooms)
- Number of Staff – 11 in the post-transplant clinic (65 total staff)
- Type of staff:
- Day Shift – 9 Transplant Coordinators, 1 Transplant Scheduler, 1 Contract Scheduler
- Night Shift - n/a
- Patient Ratios – Varies on patient population. Managing patients post kidney transplant
- Type of equipment – Primarily at a workstation with dual screens, laptop, scanner and phone.
- EMR – Meditech and Presidio Teleresults (transplant based)

- Triage post-transplant patient calls
- Order and review lab results and escalate when needed
- Schedule testing when indicated (transplant biopsy, diagnostic exam)
- Enter electronic prescriptions
- Clinic prep
- Patient assessments if needed
