Job Title: Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) – Operating Room

Location: Chico, California 95926
Contract Duration: 16 Weeks
Shift: 8- or 10-Hour Day Shifts | 6:30 AM Start | Alternating Weekends
Weekly Gross: $4600

Mandatory Qualifications for this Job

Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Certification
Current RN First Assistant (RNFA) training/certification
Current BLS/CPR Certification
Current ACLS Certification
Recent experience as an RNFA in an Operating Room

Roles and Responsibilities

Assist surgeons as the Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) during surgical procedures.
Provide safe, high-quality perioperative patient care.
Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards.
Perform first-assist duties, including tissue handling, hemostasis, and wound closure within scope.
Monitor patient safety and respond to intraoperative changes.
Collaborate with surgeons and the multidisciplinary surgical team.
Document patient care accurately in the EMR.
Follow AORN, hospital, and California nursing standards.
