Description

REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years Minimum Experience Required.
Traveler Experience: Unit WILL NOT Accept 1st time Travelers. ***Need to have 1 YEAR of traveler Experience, as this is a complex floor***
Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
Skills: IV start
Certs: BCLS

PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: Telemetry preferred.

JOB DETAILS:
Target Ratios: 1:6 (unit strives to keep this ratio, but also wants understanding that there can be times when the ratio is 1:7 due to call-outs and/or general staffing needs). Fast-paced unit.
Unit will accept 13 week length or longer, through 2/27 end date.
*36 or 48 Hours can be offered.
12-HOUR NIGHTS; 18:45-07:15
Float Requirement: FLOATING REQUIRED as needed to other med/surg units/floors.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required.

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Pt population: 2nd GI cares for a robust mixture of patients with GI conditions, patients with blood loss and anemia associated with the GI tract, patients with infections, some renal patients, surgical patients who have had GI surgery, and we have 10 Tele beds for monitoring cardiac rhythms.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Fast paced unit. On average they turn over a third of their beds every day.

UNIT SYSTEMS: PYXIS/EPIC/SBAR.

UNIT ORIENTATION: 36 hours

SCRUBS: Navy and/or white.
