Description
NICU / Special Care Nursery RN – Nights | Concord Hospital
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Specialty: NICU / Level II Special Care Nursery
Experience Required: 3–4 years RN experience, including at least 2 years in NICU or Level II SCN
Must-Have Experience
- Previous NICU or Level II Special Care Nursery experience
- Comfortable attending vaginal and C-section deliveries
- Neonatal IV starts
- CPAP management
- Tube feedings
- Care of grower/feeders
- ESC management for neonatal withdrawal/substance exposure
Postpartum experience is strongly preferred but not required.
Unit Details
- 6-bed Special Care Nursery
- Average census: 2–5 neonates
- Cares for infants 32 weeks gestation and above
- SCN is integrated into an 18-bed LDRP unit
- Approximately 8–9 RNs per shift, including 2 SCN-trained RNs
- Nurses attend deliveries in both L&D and the OR
- Surfactant administration via LMA may be utilized for appropriate candidates
Floating
May float to Postpartum or Pediatrics if needed. Travelers with appropriate experience may take an assignment; otherwise they would function primarily as helping hands.
Charting
Cerner experience preferred, not required
Strong fit for an experienced NICU/Level II SCN RN who is comfortable with deliveries, respiratory support, feeding management, and caring for moderately premature neonates.
