- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, organization, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care in the perioperative environment.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, operating room protocols, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
- Ability to maintain strict sterile technique and support a safe surgical environment.
- Ability to work effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure and emergent situations.
- Ability to accurately document patient care, procedures, medications, and interventions.
- Ability to safely handle confidential patient information and comply with hospital and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
- Previous Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience is preferred.
- Experience as a circulating nurse is preferred.
- Scrub nurse experience is preferred.
- Experience with surgical procedures, equipment, and instrumentation is preferred.
Education
Required Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is required.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), as appropriate for the unit or service.
- PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), as appropriate for the unit or service.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure
- Certification appropriate to the Operating Room or perioperative service is preferred.
- CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification is preferred.
