Description
Dialysis Registered Nurse
Overview
- Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours, 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
- Schedule: Rotating weekends
- Floating: Required between 3 campuses
- Call: Sunday nights only
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Role Summary
- Provides care for patients receiving hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments
- Works with acutely ill medical-surgical and critical care patients
- May care for patients with end stage renal disease, acute kidney injury, metabolic imbalances, dialysis access problems, or drug overdoses requiring dialysis treatments
- May care for apheresis patients with neurologic, renal, or hematologic/oncologic diseases
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Dialysis experience within the last year
- 1 year of dialysis experience
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
- Experience with Epic
- Ability to complete compliance requirements before the start date
- Government-issued photo ID
- Social Security card
- 2 supervisory references
- Resume or employment application with 7 years of work history
- Verification of all employment history from the last 5 years
Work Conditions
- Telemetry monitoring is used in the department
- Hemodynamically unstable ICU treatments may be performed at the bedside
- Peritoneal dialysis is performed in the patient’s room
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be aware of the submission to the client and review the job description
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of the zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Candidate must be aware of the required pass/fail EKG exam
- Candidate must be able to complete compliance by noon EST on the Wednesday before the start date
