Job Title: Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Travel Contract)

Position Overview
- Specialty: IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Clinical Interview Unit)

- Shift: Days (3x12 Hours, 07:00 – 19:00)
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of general nursing experience, including 1 year specific to PCU. (First-time travelers accepted only with 2+ years of experience).
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license recognized by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
- Certifications: Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required.
- Skills & Competencies: Experience with cardiac procedural recovery (CABG/TAVR/post-cardiac cath), MI pharmacology, titratable cardiac/vasoactive gists (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levo, Dopamine), heparin gists, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and chest tube management.
Compliance & Facility Details
- Radius Rule: Travelers must live at least 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility.
- Unit Details: 44-bed mixed acuity unit (Intermediate Care, Telemetry, and Med-Surg). Ratios are typically 1:4 (can be 1:3 depending on acuity). Unassigned charge nurse and 24/7 RT support available.
- Charting: Epic EMR used.
- Time Off & Blackout Dates: Up to 7 days of RTO allowed (must extend contract if taking a full week off). No time off permitted during the first 3 weeks of August annually (Sturgis Bike Rally).
- Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
