RN – Labor & Delivery | Job Posting

Facility: North Alabama Medical Center
Location: Alabama
Unit: Labor & Delivery – 3rd Floor
Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week
Start: Must be able to start within 7–10 days of offer acceptance
Orientation: Weekly on Mondays

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients.
• Perform fetal monitoring and assessment.
• Manage emergency obstetric situations and provide rapid interventions.
• Care for patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
• Float to the Postpartum unit as required.
• Manage conditions including normal and preterm labor, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, placenta previa, placental abruption, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, and postpartum hemorrhage.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Centricity and Meditech.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Required certifications:
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • EFM
  • ACLS or ALS-OB
• Strong experience in fetal monitoring, emergency response, and postpartum care.
• Must be comfortable floating to Postpartum.
• Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, time management, and empathy.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
