Position Overview

Prime Staffing is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Surg travel assignment in Pocatello, Idaho. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of nursing experience, strong Med/Surg skills, and experience caring for medically complex adult and geriatric patients.
 

Requirements

• 2 years of experience preferred
• Previous travel experience preferred
• BLS — required
• Epic experience — required
• Experience with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Teaching hospital experience — preferred
• Trauma Level II experience — preferred
• Must be comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays

IV Therapy / Phlebotomy

• Accessing and managing ports
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draws
• Peripheral line care and management
• Phlebotomy
• PICC line management
• Starting and maintaining IVs

Respiratory

• BiPAP / CPAP management
• Chest tubes – Emerson/PleurEvac
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• ABG interpretation
• Nasal cannula
• Non-invasive airway management
• Oral suctioning
• Oxygen administration
• Oxygen tanks
• Pre/Post thoracic surgery
• Tracheostomy care and management

Gastrointestinal

• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)

Important

This position requires an RN who is comfortable caring for a 1:6 adult/geriatric patient assignment in a busy Med/Surg environment and who can float based on demonstrated competencies. Candidates should be prepared to work every other weekend and support the department's scheduling needs.
