Description
ICU Float RN — Travel Contract
- Shift: Nights, 7 PM–7:30 AM
- Schedule: 36 hours/week guaranteed
- Contract: 13 weeks
- 48-hour contracts: Available
- Location: Baystate Medical Center
- Patient ratio: 1:2, or 1:1 for very high-acuity patients
Unit / Floating
This is an ICU Float position. You may float between:
- Medical HVCC
- SICU
- IMC
- Medical ICU
- Neuro Critical Care
The main ICU has 32 beds.
Patient Types
Experience with critically ill patients such as:
- Sepsis
- ESRD / AKI
- CRRT/CVVH
- Post-cardiac arrest care
- Respiratory failure
Requirements
- 1 year Level I ICU experience, OR preferably 2+ years ICU experience
- MICU experience preferred
- Strong ICU background required
- BLS — AHA
- ACLS — AHA
- NIHSS
- New grads with only 1 year of experience may not be strong enough for this unit
Important
- Must live more than 90 miles from the facility
- Agency must provide a Massachusetts staffing license
- Agency insurance must be uploaded to MYCOI
- Agency must sign the AMN/ShiftWise agreement upon offer
Bottom line: High-acuity ICU Float RN contract, nights, 36 guaranteed hours/week, with possible 48-hour contracts. Strong ICU experience is important, especially MICU, CRRT/CVVH, sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-cardiac arrest care.
