OB Technician (SEIU)

Job Description

Provides support with patient care throughout labor, delivery, and recovery. Performs surgical scrub duties, maintains adequate supplies, and prepares patient care areas for turnover. Assists in the operating room during obstetric surgical procedures, including C-sections, and provides patient care before and after surgery. This position is represented by SEIU.
 

Requirements

• Night shift: 3×12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
• Vaginal delivery experience required
• CNA certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience; OB experience preferred
• Cesarean section experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification preferred
• Call coverage required as needed
• Experience with general unit responsibilities, including:
  • Turning over patient rooms
  • Stocking supplies
  • Assembling patient charts
  • Answering phones
  • Responding to call lights
  • Obtaining vital signs, as trained
  • Updating census logs

Education & Work Experience

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent — Preferred
• Associate Degree/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience — Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) — Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per AH policy — Required
• Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification — Preferred
