Description
Travel ICU RN – Omaha, NE – 36 hrs/wk – 12‑hr Days – ASAP Start
Two (2) openings
CHI Health Immanuel is seeking experienced ICU RNs for a high‑acuity critical care unit. This is a 12‑hour day shift assignment with strong interdisciplinary support, consistent ratios, and a well‑structured orientation. Ideal candidates bring solid critical care experience, comfort with titratable drips, and the ability to manage complex patients in a fast‑paced environment.
Shift & Schedule:
- 12‑hr Days (7a–7p)
- 36 hrs/wk, every other weekend
- Floating to PCU/MedSurg as needed
- Unit‑scheduled (no self‑scheduling)
Patient Population:
- COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, CHF
- CVA/TIA, neuro
- DKA, STEMI
- High‑acuity medical and cardiac patients
Responsibilities:
- Manage critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring
- Titrate vasoactive drips, insulin, sedation, heparin, TNK
- Operate and troubleshoot ventilators, BiPAP, and advanced monitoring
- Interpret cardiac strips (no monitor techs)
- Collaborate with intensivists and 24/7 E‑ICU support
- Respond to rapid responses and codes
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC
Unit Details:
- Nurse‑to‑patient ratio: 1:2
- Tech support available (1–2 techs depending on census)
- Charge nurse present each shift
- Trauma Level II facility
- Navy blue scrubs required
- 1–2 unit orientation shifts + system onboarding
Requirements:
- Active RN license (compact accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- 1+ years recent ICU experience
- Ability to pass open‑book orientation exam (90% required)
- Must meet 50‑mile radius rule (no local candidates)
