<p><strong>Travel Wound Care RN – LewisGale Medical Center | Salem, VA</strong></p><p><strong>Department:</strong> Inpatient Wound Care<br /><strong>Schedule:</strong> <strong>Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM</strong><br /><strong>EMR:</strong> Expanse<br /><strong>Facility Size:</strong> 512 beds<br /><strong>Scrubs:</strong> Navy blue<br /><strong>Required Certification:</strong> <strong>WOCN</strong></p><h3>Experience Required</h3><ul><li>Strong inpatient <strong>wound care experience</strong></li><li>Must be able to function <strong>independently in an autonomous role</strong></li><li>Comfortable evaluating complex wounds and making treatment recommendations</li></ul><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><p>This RN serves as a hospital-wide wound care consultant for inpatient patients, including:</p><ul><li>Wound assessments</li><li>Treatment recommendations</li><li>Wound measurements and photography</li><li>Weekly wound follow-ups</li><li>New ostomy education</li><li>Complex wound VAC management</li><li>Fistula management</li><li>Collaboration with inpatient care teams regarding wound treatment plans</li></ul><h3>Must-Have Skills</h3><ul><li><strong>WOCN certification</strong></li><li>Independent wound assessment and treatment planning</li><li>Wound VAC troubleshooting and management</li><li>Ostomy education</li><li>Experience with difficult or complex wounds</li><li>Strong documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills</li></ul><h3>Schedule Highlight</h3><p><strong>No traditional bedside 12-hour schedule — Monday through Friday, 8 AM–5 PM.</strong></p><p><strong>Excellent fit for an experienced WOCN-certified RN looking for an autonomous inpatient wound care role with a consistent weekday schedule.</strong></p>
