Position Overview

Prime Staffing is seeking an experienced Blood Bank Supervisor / Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist for a day-shift assignment in Valencia, California.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine experience to meet CLIA supervisory requirements, along with previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
 

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of Blood Bank experience — required
• Minimum 4 years of Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine experience to meet CLIA supervisory requirements
• Previous Lead CLS/Medical Technologist or Blood Bank supervisory experience — preferred
• California CLS License — required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Meditech experience — preferred
• Hospital clinical laboratory experience
• Community hospital experience — preferred
• Trauma Level I experience — preferred

• ABO/Rh testing
• Antibody screening and identification
• AHG Crossmatch
• Antibody Typing – Tube Method
• Antigen Typing
• Blood Banking Procedures
• Cold Agglutinins
• Cord Blood Evaluation
• Immediate Spin/IgG Crossmatch
• Direct Coombs (DAT)

• Patient Identification Procedures
• Rhogam Screening
• Thawing and Cooling of Blood Products
• Transfusion Reaction Workups

• Call: May receive calls during evenings, nights, or weekends for time-critical issues

Important

Candidates must have at least 4 years of Blood Bank experience, and California CLS licensure is required. Previous leadership experience is preferred, but first-time travelers are accepted if they meet the required Blood Bank experience.
