Job Summary

DT-Trak is building its clinical team for a federal occupational health nursing program supporting the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), contingent upon contract award. We are seeking Registered Nurses to perform medical record reviews, fitness for duty evaluations, and annual medical certification reviews for TSA employees and applicants. This is a hybrid role: after an initial month of onsite training at TSA Headquarters in Springfield, VA, nurses report onsite approximately once per week, with the remainder of work performed remotely using government furnished equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Review electronic medical questionnaires and determine next steps in accordance with occupational health protocols and medical guidelines
  • Contact employees by phone or email to discuss medical concerns and gather additional information
  • Conduct records-based Fitness for Duty reviews and prepare determination letters for physician review
  • Review medical examination records and history to recommend pass/fail medical qualification determinations
  • Document all actions and outcomes accurately and completely in the program's medical records system
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries within 24 business hours
  • Support EEO case reviews and provide summary documentation as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians and senior clinical staff on complex or non-standard cases

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct, relevant experience in occupational health, employee case management, or medical review, including fitness for duty evaluations and medical exam record review
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or a multistate license recognized under the Nurse Licensure Compact, meeting Virginia Board of Nursing requirements
  • Ability to pass a federal public trust background investigation (processing typically 44–54 days)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with high-volume, detail-oriented case review
  • Reliable ability to report onsite in Springfield, VA for initial training and periodic in-person requirements

Schedule

Monday–Friday, core hours 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Eastern. Onsite full-time (8 hours/day) during the first month of training; hybrid schedule thereafter with weekly onsite attendance.

Benefits

Health, dental, and vision coverage for full time employees; government-furnished laptop and equipment provided; no travel costs to employee for required onsite attendance (considered local, non-reimbursable travel).

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit a resume detailing occupational health, case management, and medical review experience. All offers are contingent upon award of the underlying federal contract and successful completion of federal background investigation (PERSEC) requirements.
