Description
POSITION: RN – Stroke/Neuro PCU
SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING
==================================
• Shift hours: 3x12s, 645p-715a
4x12s available upon request
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• RTO: ALL requests must be included with the submission.
• Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-weeks.
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.
• Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes, but travel experience preferred
• Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: Yes, locals accepted. Refer to Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.
REQUIRED LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Pending License Accepted: Yes, only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise, submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license.
REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS
============================
• Cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory support: nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management
• Neuro PCU experience.
• Isolation precautions and telemetry settings across PCU, IMC, and stepdown units
UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING
=============================
• Ratios: Typically 1:5. Staffing goal is 1:4.
• 12 West is a telemetry PCU specializing in the care and management of hospitalist medicine patients including stroke and neurology patients. This Stroke/Neuroscience unit of CRMH is a Joint Commission certified primary stroke center.
• IV Drips Managed: Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix, Lidocaine, Ketamine
• Remote telemetry (monitors remain on unit); tele sitting implemented to increase Patient Care Tech coverage
• Floating: Will be required to float within skillset

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
