Description

Patient Types:
Total Joints (knees, hips etc), General MS, Appendicitis, colectomies, small bowel, Urology (turp, cysto), CHF, PNA, Sepsis, DM. Patient’s with addictions in addition to other medical issues
Patient Ratios:
- RN: Days – 1:5-6; Nights – 1:6-7
Required Certifications:
- RN: BLS, ACLS (preferred)
- Tech: BLS
Skills required:
- RN:
  - Previous Charge RN experience highly preferred – manager is willing to accept travelers without this ONLY if they are willing to be trained as Charge and to work in that capacity as needed during their contract
  - Chest tubes, traches, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, Epidurals (rare), IVABX, Heparin gtts; are not required to reading and interpret cardiac strips but it is preferable
- Floating: If yes, where?
- May float to ICU for Med Surg level patients
- May float to ED to task/as helping hands
Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: Every other; travel pairs are allowed to work the same weekend generally
- Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? No call
- Holiday Expectations: 2/4 as needed
- In all contracts it states the facility may call off for 24 hours per contract
- Approval of time off? Seek manager approval
