Description
St. Louis Park, MN – Day Shift Echo Tech Opportunity
Quick Glance:
- Schedule: 5x8s | Day Shift | Start times vary between 6:30 AM – 7:30 AM
- Length: 26-week contract
- Call: None
- Weekend Rotation: Every 6th–7th weekend
- Holiday Requirement: No major holidays
- Floating: Approximately 1 outreach location per week
- Scope: Cardiac Ultrasound / Echocardiography in a high-volume cardiovascular setting
- Equipment: Philips ultrasound systems
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality echocardiograms on adult patients in a fast-paced cardiovascular environment
- Recognize cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology to support accurate imaging
- Assist with patient care in both routine and critical situations
- Maintain sterile technique when applicable
- Identify and respond appropriately to medical emergencies, including CPR if needed
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment, reporting malfunctions as necessary
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Must-Have Credentials:
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer)
- ARDMS certification
- BLS or CPR (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac ultrasound experience in a large hospital setting
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of electrocardiography, arrhythmias, and conduction disturbances
- Familiarity with defibrillator and crash cart usage
- Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Knowledge of sterile technique and patient safety protocols
- Solid mathematical and analytical skills (including algebra basics)
- Ability to work effectively with critically ill or injured adult patients
