🫀 Position Overview
The Echocardiographic Technician performs advanced cardiac ultrasound examinations to evaluate heart muscle, cardiac chambers, valves, vessels, and overall cardiac function. You’ll work closely with cardiologists and other clinical professionals to produce high-quality diagnostic images and measurements that support patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic echocardiography examinations according to established protocols.
- Obtain high-quality images of cardiac structures, chambers, valves, and vessels.
- Prepare and position patients for echocardiographic procedures.
- Apply electrodes, ultrasound gel, and monitoring equipment as needed.
- Review medical records and interview patients to adapt examination techniques appropriately.
- Perform echocardiography associated with treadmill/stress testing.
- Record and document cardiac measurements, waveforms, images, and patient information accurately.
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists and communicate relevant technical findings.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment.
- Maintain adequate supplies and ensure examination areas are properly prepared.
- Follow patient safety, confidentiality, infection-control, and organizational standards.
- Stay current with advancements in echocardiography through continuing education and professional development.
✅ Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent echocardiography experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Current RDCS/ARDMS or CCI certification required.
- BLS certification from an approved provider required.
- Epic experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education preferred.
- Strong cardiac imaging, patient-care, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cardiologists and the broader care team.
