- Position / Title: Med Surg - RN (6th Floor Acute Medical/Surgical)

- Shift Details: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 guaranteed weekly hours.

Experience & Qualifications
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience required, with preferred background in a medical/surgical unit.
- Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred; ACLS certification required.
- Radius Policy: Candidates must live 60 miles or greater away to be considered travel .
Clinical & Unit Overview
- Unit Details: 6th Floor Acute Medical/Surgical unit in a 225-bed specialty care hospital (Level II Trauma Center).
- Patient Ratios & Population: Ratios range from 5:1 to 6:1. Patient population is adult and geriatric (ages 18–125).
- Equipment & EHR: Telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, Dynamaps, and Cerner (EHR).
- Floating Requirements: Occasional floating to "like" units.
Scheduling & Attendance Policies
- Weekends: Rotating weekend hours.
- Attendance Policy: Strict agency rules apply—a second absence results in a formal warning, and a third absence leads to contract termination (all absences must be made up to maintain contracted hours).

- Scrub Color: Galaxy Blue (Navy is also acceptable).

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
