Description
NICU RN
Location: Odessa, Texas
Start Date: 09/22/2026
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Schedule: 4x12s | 48 hours/week
Unit: High-Risk Level III NICU
Patient Ratio: 1:3 (Nights/Weekends)
Requirements:
- 2–3+ years NICU RN experience required
- Previous travel experience required
- BLS required
- NRP required
- STABLE required
- PALS preferred
- Cerner experience required
Clinical Experience Must Include:
High-risk neonatal care including:
- Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP)
- High Frequency Ventilation & Nitric Oxide
- Bubble CPAP & HFNC
- Umbilical line management (UAC/UVC)
- IV vasopressors & central line care
- Surfactant administration
- Therapeutic hypothermia
- Sepsis workups & NEC management
- Neonatal abstinence syndrome
- APGAR scoring & high-risk deliveries
- Phototherapy & hyperbilirubinemia
- Feeding support (bottle, breast, gavage)
- Developmental & family-centered care
- Respiratory distress syndrome
- Neonates 29–34 weeks (and 34+ weeks)
Unit Details:
- Level III NICU (high acuity)
- Self-scheduling
- Float required to Pediatrics and Nursery
Additional Requirements:
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- RTO must be submitted with application
- Cerner experience strongly preferred
- Travel experience required
