Occupational Therapist (OT) – LTC/Rehab

Specialty: Occupational Therapist
Location: Missouri
Shift: Days, 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday
Schedule: 8-hour days; exact times are flexible but must remain consistent and be communicated with DOR
Contract Length: 13 weeks
 

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience – REQUIRED
• LTC or Rehabilitation experience – REQUIRED
• Experience providing OT services to patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders
• Experience developing and implementing individualized plans of care
• Experience with patient evaluations, treatment interventions, progress assessments, and discharge planning

Required License

• Active Missouri Occupational Therapist (OT) license – REQUIRED

Required Certifications

• No specific national certification listed
• Must practice in accordance with NBCOT/AOTA and Missouri state practice requirements

Key Skills / Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL-related functional disorders.
• Develop individualized plans of care based on clinical findings and regulatory standards.
• Provide skilled rehabilitation services, including:
  • ADL retraining
  • Therapeutic activities
  • Therapeutic exercises
  • Modalities
  • Supportive and assistive devices
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Document evaluations, treatments, progress, and discharge summaries in the electronic medical record.
• Communicate patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans with supervisors and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide education and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other providers.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, rehabilitation meetings, trainings, and in-services.
• Assist with obtaining necessary DME and supplies.
• May supervise and support COTA/OTA staff, rehabilitation aides, and students.
• Maintain compliance with NBCOT/AOTA standards and Missouri state practice laws and ethics.

Submission Requirements

• Active Missouri OT license
• 1+ year OT experience
• LTC or Rehab experience
