Position: MRI Technologist
Location: Montgomery, Alabama
Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday–Friday
Schedule: 8-hour shifts / 40 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility: 492 beds | Level I Trauma Center | Level III NICU | Primary Stroke Center
EMR: Cerner

Job Description

• Perform MRI procedures in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environment.
• Care for primarily adult inpatient and outpatient patients, with occasional pediatric patients in outpatient/ED settings.
• Perform approximately 4 patients per hour / 40 patients per day.
• MRI responsibilities include:
  • Head/Neck
  • Abdomen
  • Pelvis
  • Spine
  • Extremities
  • MRAs
• Maintain patient safety and follow MRI safety protocols.
• Work throughout the main Radiology department and float between different imaging areas as needed.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, transport staff, and other imaging personnel.
• Hospital has centralized patient transport, but technologists may assist with transporting patients to/from the department when needed.

Required Experience

• 1 year of experience may be accepted for candidates with strong experience in the required skills.
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong MRI experience with the required procedures is essential.

Required Certifications

• BLS – Required
• ARRT – Required
• For MRI Technologists:
  • ARRT (R)-MR OR
  • ARMRIT

Required MRI Skills

Must be experienced with:

• Head/Neck MRI
• Abdomen MRI
• Pelvis MRI
• Spine MRI
• Extremity MRI
• MRA procedures

Scheduling

• Monday–Friday
• 2:00 PM–10:30 PM

Candidate Must-Haves

✅ BLS
✅ ARRT
✅ ARRT (R)-MR or ARMRIT
✅ MRI experience
✅ Head/Neck, Abdomen, Pelvis, Spine, Extremities & MRA experience
✅ Comfortable working in a high-acuity Level I Trauma environment
✅ Willing to float within the Radiology department
✅ Available for weekend/holiday rotation as required
