Registered Nurse — Labor & Delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Iowa
  • Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Travel experience within the last 15 months
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP
  • STABLE
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Experience

  • Nursery / Mother-Baby experience
  • Post Partum experience
  • NICU experience

Clinical Details

  • NBO: 16 hours
  • Unit includes maternity, nursery, NICU, C-section suite, and overflow rooms
  • Patient types include antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, and NICU
  • Typical ratios: Labor 1:1, Postpartum 1:2, NICU 2:1
  • Delivery volume: 50–60 births per month
  • Level 2 maternal/neonatal center

Scheduling / Assignment Notes

  • Contractor is required to work 1–2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed
  • Orientation dates listed: 9/8, 9/14, 9/21
  • Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver’s license
  • Past employees of the health system may be restricted from returning to travel roles under the stated separation policy
