Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery

Seeking an experienced Travel RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit. This position requires at least 2 years of RN experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment, with strong high-risk L&D experience.

Candidates with 5 years of high-risk experience are highly preferred, though candidates with 3+ years of experience may be considered if they have strong high-risk L&D experience.
 

EPIC experience is required.
 

Unit Details

• High-Risk / High-Volume Labor & Delivery
• 31 L&D rooms/beds
• Approximately 15 patients/day
• Approximately 500–600 deliveries/month
• 4 ORs
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
• Weekend coverage required
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required between Postpartum / Antepartum and potentially nearby sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care

Required Experience & Skills

• Circulate for C-sections
• Function as Baby Nurse / Baby Catcher during delivery
• Provide immediate newborn care, including:
  • APGARs
  • Newborn assessments
  • Eye prophylaxis
  • Vitamin K injections
  • Newborn thermoregulation
• Continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• High-risk antepartum experience
• High-acuity, fast-paced L&D experience
• Electronic fetal monitoring
• EPIC charting

Certifications

Required:

• BLS
• NRP

Preferred:

• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

Patient populations include:

• Midwifery clients
• Private OB patients
• Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
• Community care clinic patients
