This hybrid position will require experience as both an Ultrasound Technologist and Echo Technologist.
Ultrasound Technologist
Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment to demonstrated anatomical or physiological structures of the human body for diagnostic purposes. Produce quality images as directed by the radiologists and physicians for the diagnosis or treatment of anatomic or physiologic disorders. Demonstrate knowledge of general and cross-sectional anatomy, technical factors, and basic computer skills. Function to work independently and in a cooperative manner in teamwork-oriented atmosphere within the department as well as hospital wide. Must be able to provide exceptional care and satisfaction skills to all customers of the Great River Health Systems. Performs: General Abdominal Sonography, Vascular Sonography; doppler, ABIs, and Segmental Pressure exams, OB/GYN Sonography, Small parts Sonography on all populations. Basic computer skills as well as PACS knowledge. Produce ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by physicians.
Echo Technologist
Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties involved in the operation of echocardiography equipment to obtain and record two-dimensional and M-mode graphic representations of the heart utilizing high frequency sound waves to assist physician in the diagnosis of cardiac malfunctions, malformations and abnormalities. Effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining credo values. Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and practice utilizing critical thinking skills in performing test on the following patient populations: Cardiac/Acute Myocardial Infarction. Associate Degree in Applied Science or related field Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Must be registered through ARDMS Registry. RDCS or CCI credentialed. Experience with stress testing and TEEs
Perform adult echocardiography, including:
- Contrast and saline bubble studies.
- Exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography.
- Conduct echocardiography according to established protocols and accreditation standards, ensuring high-quality results.
