Position Overview

Seeking an experienced PCU/Stepdown RN to provide care for adult and geriatric patients with complex and rapidly changing medical conditions. The RN will utilize the nursing process, provide comprehensive assessments, administer medications, coordinate care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Monitor patients with multi-system organ failure and/or multisystem trauma.
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to physician orders and facility policies.
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Manage patients requiring chest tubes and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Insert and monitor transvenous/temporary pacing.
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation.
• Utilize advanced respiratory modalities as needed.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and promote patient safety.
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based nursing practices.

Requirements

• 1 year of RN experience required.
• Minimum 6 months acute-care hospital experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the working state or Compact license.
• BLS or ACLS required.
• BSN preferred.
• EPIC experience preferred.
