RN Medical / Surgical/ Telemetry

• 7 openings - 4 (days), 3 (nights)
• The 3B/3C Stroke Telemetry Unit is a high-acuity, fast-paced medical-surgical environment specializing in the care of acute stroke and complex telemetry patients.
• This 34-bed unit is designed to deliver evidence-based, protocol-driven care with a strong focus on patient safety, rapid intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

RN Responsibilities & Expectations

• Perform and document frequent neurological assessments (including NIH Stroke Scale)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and respond to changes in real time
• Ensure compliance with stroke core measures (dysphagia screening, education, care plans)
• Administer medications using BCMA standards with a focus on safety and accuracy
• Coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team (providers, therapy, case management)
• Manage admissions, discharges, and patient flow in a high-turnover environment
• Maintain a constant focus on falls prevention, skin integrity, and patient safety

Qualifications:

• ACLS, BLS, NIH required
• Min. 3 years of experience required
• RN NY license required
• Ability to read basic rhythm strips prior to arriving at the facility.
• Work with primary and team nursing.
