Travel MRI Technologist
Location: Temple, TX
Job Type: Travel Contract / Temp-to-Perm
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week

Hours: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM; Monday, 10:30 AM–11:00 PM

Interview: Virtual/Phone
Setting: Clinic serving both inpatient and outpatient populations
Scrub Color: Any solid color; no prints

 

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel MRI Technologist to join an imaging team in Temple, TX. Under the general supervision of a Radiologist, the MRI Technologist will perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of MRI experience, strong patient-care skills, and the ability to independently perform MRI procedures according to established protocols. Siemens and Epic experience are preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Prepare patients for MRI procedures, including positioning and use of immobilization devices when appropriate.
  • Verify patient identity, exam orders, medical history, and other required documentation before procedures.
  • Screen patients and other individuals for MRI safety according to approved policies and procedures.
  • Explain MRI procedures clearly to patients and families and assess the patient's ability to tolerate the examination.
  • Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
  • Operate MRI equipment and adjust appropriate imaging parameters according to exam protocols.
  • Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images in a timely manner.
  • Follow applicable MRI safety, infection-control, radiation-safety, and organizational policies.
  • Use appropriate sterile techniques when assisting with invasive or multimodality procedures.
  • Ensure required requisitions, patient history, consent forms, pregnancy status, and other documentation are complete.
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, patients, and other healthcare team members.
  • Maintain a professional and calm demeanor, particularly in stressful situations.
  • Assist with emergency situations and appropriately respond to patient needs.
  • Support training and orientation of new team members when requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of MRI Technologist experience.
  • Current BLS certification – AHA Only.
  • ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification..

Preferred Qualifications

  • Siemens MRI experience preferred.
  • Epic experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a combined inpatient/outpatient imaging environment.
  • Experience with a variety of MRI procedures and protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting and equipment knowledge.
