Description

MANAGER INTERVIEWS

Unit: Cardiac RN 

Required Certifications: MN RN license, AHA or ARC BLS, AHA or ARC ACLS and NIHSS

Education: BSN or Associates 

Minimum Experience: 2 years of critical care experience. Prefer applicants who have had previous travel experience (1-2 assignments)

Desired specific skillset: Previous experience with management of cardiac patients.

Strong telemetry interpretation

Management of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) including NSTEMI/STEMI

Experience with post-cardiac catheterization patients

Care of patient with heart failure (chronic & acute)

Knowledge of cardiac pharmacology (antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, vasoactive medications

Ability to recognize and respond to cardiac deterioration and rapid changes

Primary cases: NSTEMI, STEMI, Arrhythmia (heart block, bradycardia, tachycardia, etc.), CHF, syncope/near syncope, post-op angio/cardiac cath, post op ablation/pacemaker/ICD, management of various gtts [including: nitroglyerin, heparin, cardizem, amiodorone, nicardipine, cleveprex, precedex, etc])

 

Unit Overview: 30 bed cardiac care unit. Patient ratio 1:4

Charting Experience: Epic highly preferred
