Job Title: Dietitian & Nutritionist
- Agency: Kingsboro Addiction Treatment Center

Position Overview
- The Dietitian & Nutritionist will provide comprehensive nutrition assessment, planning, counseling, and dietary support services within an addiction treatment setting.
- The selected candidate will evaluate clients' medical records, medications, and nutritional status to develop individualized nutrition care plans that support recovery, overall wellness, and long-term health outcomes.
- The position also includes nutrition education, menu planning, and collaboration with clinical and dietary services to ensure patients receive safe, balanced, and therapeutic nutritional care.
Key Responsibilities
- Review client medical records, medications, laboratory findings, and health histories to evaluate nutritional needs and identify nutrition-related concerns.
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans based on each client's medical condition, treatment goals, and dietary requirements.
- Design personalized meal plans that support recovery, improve nutritional status, and promote overall health and wellness.
- Provide one-on-one nutrition counseling and education to clients regarding healthy eating habits, therapeutic diets, and lifestyle modifications.
- Plan and conduct nutrition education sessions, workshops, and group training programs for clients and facility staff as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain structured nutrition plans, therapeutic diets, and facility menus that meet nutritional guidelines and program objectives.
- Monitor client progress and modify nutrition care plans based on clinical assessments, treatment outcomes, and changing nutritional needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, counselors, and multidisciplinary treatment teams to coordinate comprehensive client care.
- Assist in supervising kitchen operations to ensure compliance with dietary standards, food safety regulations, sanitation requirements, and approved menu plans.
- Monitor food preparation and meal service to ensure nutritional quality and adherence to prescribed diets.
- Maintain accurate nutrition assessments, counseling notes, meal plans, and related clinical documentation.
- Perform additional nutrition and dietary services as assigned to support facility operations.
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Schedule: Various shifts between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM
- Overtime: Not required
- Travel: Not required
- Holidays: Not required to work New York State holidays

- Kingsboro Addiction Treatment Center provides comprehensive treatment services for individuals recovering from substance use disorders.
- The Nutrition Department supports the clinical treatment team by delivering individualized nutrition care, therapeutic meal planning, and nutrition education designed to improve patient health and recovery outcomes.
- Dietitians work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, counselors, and dietary personnel to promote evidence-based nutritional care within a multidisciplinary treatment environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, Food Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience in clinical nutrition, behavioral health, addiction treatment, hospital, long-term care, or community health settings preferred.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition assessment, therapeutic diets, meal planning, and nutrition counseling principles.
- Experience developing individualized nutrition care plans and conducting patient education sessions.
- Knowledge of food service operations, menu planning, sanitation standards, and kitchen supervision practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and professional nutrition practice standards.
