Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer – Job Summary

Shift: 8-hour Days, Monday–Thursday; 4 hours Friday
Hours: 40 hours/week guaranteed
Setting: Acute Care | Trauma Level II
Charting: EPIC

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic obstetric ultrasound exams throughout all trimesters.
• Conduct dating scans, detailed anatomy scans, growth studies, Doppler studies, and transvaginal ultrasounds.
• Perform fetal echocardiography and advanced fetal imaging.
• Assist physicians with imaging and procedures such as genetic amniocentesis.
• Evaluate patient history and explain procedures clearly to patients and families.
• Ensure ultrasound equipment is functioning properly and report issues when needed.
• Complete image documentation, exam charges, and submit studies promptly.
• Follow AIUM standards and participate in QA/QC activities.
• Work directly with perinatologists in a specialized fetal imaging center.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Ultrasound Technology or graduation from an accredited Sonography program.
• Current ARDMS/RDMS certification.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• License required to submit.
• Strong experience with maternal-fetal medicine and advanced OB ultrasound procedures.
• Proficiency in first, second, and third trimester imaging.
• Experience with fetal anatomy, fetal growth, Doppler studies, fetal echocardiography, and transvaginal ultrasound.
• EPIC experience preferred/required for charting.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of ultrasound experience preferred.
• Nuchal Translucency (NT) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with multiple gestations, genetic sonograms, and pregnancy-related gynecologic imaging.
