Cardiac/Vascular Interventional Technologist (CI/VI):
Facility: VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS)
Location: 6900 North Pecos Road, North Las Vegas, NV 89086
Department: Radiology / Interventional Radiology
Positions Available: 2
Contract: 26 weeks + 26 weeks
Schedule: Days, Nights, Weekends & Holidays
Hours: 40 hours/week baseline
Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Cardiac/Vascular Interventional Technologists (CI/VI) to support the Radiology Department at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in North Las Vegas, NV. The technologist will provide technical support during cardiac and vascular interventional procedures while maintaining a high standard of patient care, sterile technique, safety, and procedural efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working in cardiac and/or vascular interventional radiology, collaborating with radiologists, cardiologists, vascular surgeons, nurses, and other members of the interventional team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist radiologists, cardiologists, and vascular surgeons during cardiac and vascular interventional procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the interventional suite, equipment, supplies, and procedure-specific materials.
- Operate and assist with imaging equipment used during interventional procedures.
- Maintain strict aseptic and sterile technique throughout procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning, preparation, monitoring, and safe transfer.
- Provide technical support to ensure efficient procedural workflow and patient throughput.
- Assist with hemodynamic assessment and monitoring during applicable procedures.
- Monitor equipment functionality and identify or troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to procedures and patient care.
- Follow radiation safety, infection control, patient safety, and VA policies and procedures.
- Assist with emergency situations, including rapid response and code situations, in accordance with ACLS protocols.
- Participate in emergency preparedness procedures, including fire and disaster response.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and appropriately stocked interventional environment.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology/Interventional Radiology program or equivalent qualifying education and experience.
- Current ARRT certification in Cardiac Interventional (CI) and/or Vascular Interventional (VI).
- BLS certification – Required
- ACLS certification – Required
- Previous experience in cardiac and/or vascular interventional radiology.
- Strong knowledge of sterile/aseptic technique and interventional procedure protocols.
- Ability to support emergency and high-acuity procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced interventional environment.
- Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
