Description
- Position / Title: L&D - RN (Labor & Delivery)
- Facility Name: Prowers Medical Center
- Location: 401 Kendall Drive, Lamar, CO 81052
- VMS Req ID / Job ID: 299109 / Job ID: 877220
- Target Start Date: 09/14/2026
- Shift Details: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week (Full-time contract). May rotate shifts and areas as staffing and census require.

Experience & Qualifications
- Experience Required: 4 years of experience in obstetrics care preferred.
- License & Certifications: Active Colorado RN license and current CPR certification required. Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) and ACLS required within one year of employment.
Clinical & Unit Overview
- Role Focus: Providing direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and providing direct care to newborns (New Beginnings Birth Center).
- Responsibilities: Performing assessments, monitoring the process of labor, preparing for C-sections and inductions, administering IV medications, newborn care, patient education, and coordinating patient transfers.
- Special Demands: On-call required. Physical demands include long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
