• Beds: 24
• Census 18-20/day

Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years in Psych nursing

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

•  Adults 18 - Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Depression, Suicidal Ideation,

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 1:6
• MHT: 1:12

Required Licensure & Certifications:  BLS, CPI

Skills required:

• Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care, strong interpersonal and de-escalation communication skills, ability to work collaboratively, solid written and oral communication skills, ability to tolerate moderate to high stress levels.
• De-escalation, experience with physical restraints, medical restraints, medication passes, comfortability to run groups (not required), documentation.
• May have patients who are recently Postpartum, if they have compounding psych diagnoses requiring inpatient treatment.
• Open Day room unit – all dx – not a designated detox center, but some people are naturally detoxing.

• Duties – provides patient care to psychiatric patients as directed by a RN and according to the plan established by the treatment team. Develops therapeutic relationships with patients and family members through participation in department and team treatment programs.
