Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

📍 Location: Kansas City, MO
📅 Start Date: September 21, 2026
⏳ Contract: 13 Weeks
🌙 Shift: Nights | 3×12s | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
Previous travel experience required
BLS – Required
FHM – Required
NRP – Required
AWHONN Advanced – Preferred
AWHONN Intermediate – Preferred
Epic – Required
First-time travelers not accepted
Pending licenses not accepted
Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
Must be willing to float between departments/units/facilities as needed
Kansas and Missouri licenses, or compact license, must be in hand.

Required Clinical Skills

Labor and delivery management
Vaginal delivery assistance
C-section circulating and recovery
Amnioinfusion
Forceps/vacuum extraction
Hemorrhage and shock management
IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood administration
Peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
Infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring
EFM and fetal monitoring
Internal fetal monitoring and IUPC
Recognition and treatment of abnormal FHR patterns
Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, prostaglandins, and terbutaline
Antepartum assessment and obstetric triage
NSTs
Sterile vaginal examinations
Postpartum and couplet care
Breastfeeding/lactation support
Cesarean and postpartum hemorrhage care
Newborn assessment and hypoglycemia management
Neonatal resuscitation
APGAR assessment
Cord sampling and infant identification
Epidural/general anesthesia and pain management
D&C and tubal ligation
Post-op gynecology care
