Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse – ICU for a 13-week assignment in Grand Junction, Colorado. This is an excellent opportunity for an ICU RN who is confident providing complex, high-acuity patient care and working independently in a fast-paced acute-care environment.
The position offers a consistent 3×12-hour night schedule, 36 hours per week, with no scheduled on-call requirement.

Key Responsibilities
As an ICU RN, you will:
- Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Perform ongoing assessments and monitor changes in patient condition.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, therapies, and treatments according to established standards.
- Provide direct patient care and execute delegated medical functions within scope of practice.
- Monitor and evaluate treatment and therapy plans.
- Provide patient and family education, health teaching, and counseling.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately to urgent and emergent situations.
- Make appropriate patient referrals for additional evaluation or treatment.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Utilize available resources effectively to support quality patient outcomes.
- Follow hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing standards.
- Float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications when required by operational needs.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- ASN required; BSN preferred.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Compact RN license accepted, if applicable.
- BLS – American Heart Association required.
- ACLS – American Heart Association required.
- NIHSS required.
- Additional unit-specific certifications may be required or preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity critical-care environment.
- Ability to function independently while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.
