Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse – ICU for a 13-week assignment in Grand Junction, Colorado. This is an excellent opportunity for an ICU RN who is confident providing complex, high-acuity patient care and working independently in a fast-paced acute-care environment.

The position offers a consistent 3×12-hour night schedule, 36 hours per week, with no scheduled on-call requirement.

Key Responsibilities

As an ICU RN, you will:

  • Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
  • Perform ongoing assessments and monitor changes in patient condition.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications, therapies, and treatments according to established standards.
  • Provide direct patient care and execute delegated medical functions within scope of practice.
  • Monitor and evaluate treatment and therapy plans.
  • Provide patient and family education, health teaching, and counseling.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately to urgent and emergent situations.
  • Make appropriate patient referrals for additional evaluation or treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Utilize available resources effectively to support quality patient outcomes.
  • Follow hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing standards.
  • Float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications when required by operational needs.


Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • ASN required; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • Compact RN license accepted, if applicable.
  • BLS – American Heart Association required.
  • ACLS – American Heart Association required.
  • NIHSS required.
  • Additional unit-specific certifications may be required or preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity critical-care environment.
  • Ability to function independently while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.
