Description
- Position / Title: ICU - RN (Adult Intensive Care Unit / AICU)
- Facility Name: Franciscan Health Indianapolis

- Shift Details: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (36 guaranteed hours, 16-week contract).
What the Facility Wants (Requirements & Expectations)
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
- License & Certifications: Active RN license and required certifications: ACLS and BLS.
- Must-Have Skills: Comprehensive assessment skills, care of septic patients, and care of mechanically ventilated patients with hemodynamic monitoring devices. CRRT and Epic experience preferred.
Clinical & Unit Overview
- Unit Details: 30-bed Adult Intensive Care Unit.
- Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3.
- Patient Population: Sepsis, respiratory failure, substance abuse disorders, endocrine disorders, and psych disorders.
- Equipment & EMR: Alaris pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismaflex, EV1000, and Epic EMR.
- Floating Requirements: Required to float to other inpatient areas when the home unit experiences low census.
Scheduling & Facility Policies
- Weekends & Holidays: Every-other-weekend commitment (Friday/Saturday nights); no on-call requirements.
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs (hoodies and non-Franciscan sweatshirts are prohibited).
- First Day & Orientation: Report to 3 East in the Tower building (park in employee parking with yellow-lined spots). Orientation includes first-day modules, Epic training (if needed), and one day of unit orientation.

Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
