Description
Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift
Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established standards and the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. In this role, you will apply professional nursing theory to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while collaborating closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary medical teams.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shift with an every-other-weekend rotation; holidays and on-call duty as needed.
- Mobility: Must be willing to float to other facilities within the system as operational needs require.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Prepare and maintain clear, accurate patient records and care documentation.
- Promote a safe care environment by identifying risks and following standard safety/infection control precautions.
- Maintain positive, clear, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, families, physicians, and staff.
- React calmly and decisively in clinical emergencies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: BSN preferred, or required within 5 years of hire date. (Current RN teammates transferring within the same department are exempt).
- Licensure: Current RN license in South Carolina OR a current Compact/Multi-State RN license from a recognized NCSBN Compact State (if not a permanent resident of SC).
- Certifications:
- Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers card (Required).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 6 months of hire for all WIC service RNs.
Physical & Environmental Demands
- Physical Effort: Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and reaching. Frequent lifting/moving of patients and equipment (intermittent pulling/pushing up to 50 lbs).
- Work Environment: Healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious conditions, communicable diseases, and bloodborne pathogens; moderate noise levels and high-paced conditions.
