Description
- Position / Title: PCU / Tele - RN (Progressive Care Unit)
- Facility Name: Overland Park Regional Medical Center
- Location: 10500 Quivira Rd, Overland Park, KS 66215
- VMS Req ID / Job ID: 1022115 / Job ID: 877722
- Target Start Date: 08/17/2026 (13-week contract)
- Shift Details: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), self-scheduling including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.

Experience & Qualifications
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience required.
- License & Certifications: Active RN license and required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
Clinical & Unit Overview
- Unit Details: 18-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiac and pulmonary patients (e.g., COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, trach patients requiring monitoring every 2–4 hours).
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5. Supported by 2 PCTs and 1 unit secretary.
- Charting & Equipment: Meditech EMR, Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pump, and Pyxis.
- Floating Policy: Float priority order is 1) Travelers, 2) PRN staff, 3) Date last floated.
Scheduling & Facility Policies
- On-Call: None required.
- Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs.

Cons
Lack benefits and perks other companies offer. Was incorrectly paid more than once. The assignment was the worst I’ve experienced from management down to housekeeping. They nitpick travelers on every level and give them double the respiratory therapist to patient ratio with every assignment spread over multiple floors and areas on every side of the facility. Staff makes no attempt at teamwork. Bottom line: Malone is ok🥴 but has MUCH room to improve. Elizabethtown, KY is awful and puts their patients and your license at risk every shift. Don’t do it!
