Assignment Details

• Discipline: Registered Nurse
• Setting: Acute Care Hospital
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience
• Must have worked as an RN in the applicable specialty within the past 12 months
• BLS required
• Must hold a current RN license valid for the state of practice, temporary/interim license, or applicable Compact RN license
• Additional certifications may be required based on specialty/unit

Required Qualifications

Candidates must:

• Have recent acute care hospital experience in the specialty being submitted to
• Maintain current clinical competencies for the assigned unit
• Be comfortable assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
• Safely administer medications and treatments
• Recognize and communicate changes in patient condition
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team
• Provide patient/family education and discharge planning
• Appropriately delegate and supervise patient care activities when applicable

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN preferred
• Professional specialty certification preferred
• Additional related education and experience preferred

RN Responsibilities

The RN provides comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, including:

• Complete patient assessments and reassessments
• Develop and update individualized plans of care
• Review diagnostic and laboratory results and escalate abnormal findings
• Coordinate care with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Administer ordered medications and treatments
• Provide patient and family education
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Delegate and supervise nursing care appropriately
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and continuity of care
