What the Facility Wants (Requirements & Expectations)

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Tele experience in the last 3 years (prior neuro, Alaris, and Epic experience preferred).
• License & Certifications: Active nursing license and required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Radius & Distance Rules: Strict 60-mile radius rule (driver's license must be submitted, and travelers must live outside the radius and obtain housing that makes floating across the full 60-mile zone feasible). No home base facility.

Clinical & Unit Overview

• Float Pool Expectations: Expected to float throughout Zone 4 across multiple units (general Med-Surg/Tele, cardiac, neuro, oncology, rehab, renal, bariatrics, ortho, trauma, and ED observation). May also float to higher acuity units (ICU for low-acuity holds, PCU/Stepdown) within skillset.
• Patient Ratios: 1:5–6 based on acuity.
• Scheduling Formats:
  • Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week (may float within that facility).
  • Option B (Just-In-Time): Facility assigned 1–2 hours before shift start via call.

Scheduling & Policies

• Weekend & Holiday Requirements: 6–9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule; may be asked to join the holiday rotation.
• Attendance Policy: Travelers cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract. Must submit a 2-week notice to avoid a back-out penalty fee.
