🩺 Travel RN – Post-Acute / Long-Term Care | Days
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Start Date: September 14, 2026
Contract: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days | 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts
Openings: 2
EMR: Epic
Minimum Experience: 2 years RN experience
Certification: BLS/BCLS required
License: Active Maine or Compact RN license
Holiday Coverage: Required
Local Requirement: Must reside outside a 50-mile radius

Take your nursing career to Maine with an exciting 13-week Travel RN opportunity in Post-Acute, Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing. This assignment is ideal for an experienced RN who enjoys providing compassionate, patient-centered care while working with a diverse geriatric and rehabilitation population.
You’ll have the opportunity to care for residents across specialized dementia/Alzheimer's, transitional rehabilitation and long-term care units, providing excellent clinical experience in a collaborative post-acute setting.
🏥 Unit Highlights
Alzheimer's & Dementia Care – 31 Beds
Provide individualized care to residents living with Alzheimer's and dementia in a supportive, home-like environment.
- Utilize effective verbal and non-verbal communication
- Provide individualized, resident-centered care
- Recognize and respond appropriately to dementia-related behaviors
- Support residents requiring long-term placement
- Promote safety, dignity and quality of life
Transitional Rehabilitation – 42 Beds
Care for patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke and other illnesses or injuries requiring short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitation.
Potential clinical responsibilities include:
- IV therapy
- Wound care
- Geriatric assessment and management
- Post-surgical recovery
- Rehabilitation-focused nursing care
Long-Term Care – 42 Beds
Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents requiring longer-term placement in a comfortable, home-like environment.
💼 Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to residents
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
- Perform wound care and IV therapy as needed
- Support rehabilitation and recovery plans
- Provide geriatric-focused nursing care
- Care for residents with Alzheimer's and dementia
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
- Promote patient safety, comfort and dignity
- Float to other units as needed
✅ Requirements
Required:
- 2+ years of RN experience
- Active Maine or Compact RN license
- BLS/BCLS certification
- Epic experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to float between units
- Ability to work in a 24/7 patient-care environment
LTC, SNF, post-acute, rehabilitation or geriatric nursing experience is highly desirable.

📌 Important Assignment Details
- Holiday coverage is required.
- Nurses must be flexible to float to other units based on facility needs.
- Candidates must reside outside the 50-mile radius to qualify as travelers.
- Previous employees are not eligible.
- Up to 16 hours of orientation may be unpaid.
- The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
- Any requested time off should be disclosed at the time of submission.
