Position Summary:A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide therapeutic services that help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities, regain independence, and achieve functional goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and functional skills.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, bathing, and feeding.
• Provide exercises and interventions to improve fine motor skills, balance, and coordination.
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and adaptive techniques.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Assist with transfers, positioning, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.

Requirements

• Current COTA certification through NBCOT, as required.
• Active COTA license in the applicable state.
• Current BLS certification, if required by the facility.
