Location: St. Helena, California

Shift Time: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
Start Times: 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM
Call: Some on-call coverage required

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Echocardiographic Technician / Cardiac Sonographer who enjoys performing advanced cardiac imaging and collaborating closely with cardiologists in a patient-focused environment.

You'll be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images of the heart, cardiac chambers, valves and vessels, helping physicians evaluate cardiac structure and function.


🫀 Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic echocardiographic examinations to assess cardiac structure and function
  • Obtain high-quality images of the heart, chambers, valves and vessels
  • Set up and operate ultrasound equipment
  • Position patients and prepare them for cardiac imaging procedures
  • Apply electrodes and verify appropriate wave signals
  • Record and document cardiac measurements and diagnostic data
  • Review patient medical records and adapt scanning techniques appropriately
  • Interview patients and provide clear instructions throughout examinations
  • Perform echocardiography during treadmill/stress testing
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists and other members of the healthcare team
  • Evaluate technical findings and communicate relevant information to cardiologists
  • Maintain equipment and ensure adequate inventory of supplies
  • Review patient schedules and prepare recording equipment
  • Accurately enter patient and examination information into appropriate systems
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow organizational policies
  • Stay current with advances in echocardiography through continuing education and professional development


✅ Requirements

Required:

  • Currently certified or eligible for certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or CCI
  • BLS certification from an approved provider
  • Strong cardiac sonography and echocardiography skills
  • Ability to work effectively with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent patient-care and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Echocardiography/ECG certification
  • Experience performing a variety of diagnostic echocardiographic examinations
  • Experience with stress/treadmill echocardiography
