We are seeking an experienced Director of Trauma Program to lead and coordinate a Level II Trauma Program in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

• Position: Director of Trauma Program

• Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center
• Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
• Hospital: 267 beds
• Team: Approximately 8 FTEs
• Salary: $110,000–$150,000/year, based on experience
• Relocation: Available on a case-by-case basis

About the Opportunity

This is an operations-focused Trauma Program leadership position, not a traditional Nursing Director role.

The Director will serve as a trauma subject matter expert, overseeing the hospital-wide trauma program and partnering closely with trauma surgeons, physicians, nurses, the Emergency Department, and hospital leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall Trauma Program across the facility
• Develop strategic plans to optimize trauma patient care
• Monitor trauma clinical processes, outcomes, and quality metrics
• Coordinate Trauma Performance Improvement activities
• Develop quality filters, audits, and case reviews
• Identify trends, system issues, and opportunities for improvement
• Oversee trauma registry processes and reporting
• Support trauma research, education, and innovation
• Coordinate with local and regional trauma systems
• Manage Trauma Center verification and re-verification processes
• Monitor resource utilization and financial performance
• Collaborate with trauma surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
• Conduct rounds and maintain communication with trauma and ED teams
• Address patient concerns and complaints related to the Trauma Program
• Promote consistent, high-quality trauma care throughout the organization

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN)
• Associate Degree required
• 5+ years of recent acute-care Trauma leadership experience
• Experience as a:
  • Trauma Program Manager
  • Trauma Coordinator
  • Trauma Program Director
  • Comparable acute-care trauma leadership role
• BLS certification within 30 days of employment

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong Trauma Program subject matter expertise
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with trauma performance improvement and registry processes
• Strong understanding of Level II Trauma Center operations
• Ability to work effectively with physicians, surgeons, nursing teams, and hospital leadership

Compensation

💰 $110K–$150K Base Salary

• $110K: Minimum
• $135K: Midpoint for candidates with approximately 10+ years of experience
• $150K: Maximum for candidates with approximately 15+ years of experience
• No sign-on bonus
• Relocation assistance available case-by-case
