Laboratory Technologist

Role Summary
- Performs laboratory testing across multiple areas, including hematology, immunohematology, immunology, bacteriology, microscopy, routine chemistry, and therapeutic drug monitoring.
- Performs phlebotomy, including arterial puncture, capillary punctures, and venipunctures.
- Processes specimens, calibrates and maintains instruments, performs quality control and preventive maintenance, validates and reports results, and supports laboratory policy, procedures, and equipment upkeep.
- Assists with orientation and teaching students and new employees, and may help develop new procedures.
- Works under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager and may serve as a general supervisor for waived, moderate, and high complexity testing after probation.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Lab Technician experience within the last year.
- Medical Lab Technician (1 year of experience).
- Medical Technologist experience.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related area of specialty.
- AMT or ASCP.
Additional Details
- Contract length: 26 weeks
- Exposure risk includes blood-borne pathogens.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
