Description

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Shift: 8-hour days, 6:45 AM–3:15 PM

Guaranteed hours: 40 hours/week

EMR: Epic

Weekend: Usually unlikely, but possible depending on staffing

On-call: Yes

About 2 weeknights (7 PM–7 AM) and 1 weekend call every 6 weeks
30-minute response time
One RN + one surgical tech on call

👩‍⚕️ Experience Requirements

2+ years of high-level acute OR experience
Adult + pediatric experience accepted
First-time travelers: Yes, but they want 5+ years of experience
Must be comfortable scrubbing independently across a broad range of cases
BLS required
CST certification required
Washington state license must be in hand, or proof of application submitted at least 6 weeks ago

🧒 Patient Population & Cases

This is a very broad pediatric OR assignment. Cases include:

Neurosurgery: craniotomies, EVDs, shunts
Trauma: MVAs, gunshot wounds, shaken-baby injuries
Spine: scoliosis repairs and spinal injuries
Urology: hypospadias/hyperpadias repairs, orchiopexy, orchiectomy, hernias
GYN: ovarian torsion/cysts, endometriosis, IUD placement
Orthopedics: pinnings, ACL repairs, arthroscopy, hip osteotomies
Oncology: tumor resections
ENT: tonsillectomies/adenoidectomies, PE tubes, trachs
General surgery: laparoscopic/open appendectomies and cholecystectomies
Eyes: strabismus repairs — preferred
Dental: preferred
Robotics: Da Vinci XI — preferred
