The unit combines Pre-Op Holding, Ambulatory Surgery, and Phase 2 Recovery, providing comprehensive care before and after a variety of procedures.

  • Approximately 1:3 patient ratio
  • Experienced RN team
  • Full-time, part-time, and PRN nursing staff

  • GE MACVU EKG equipment
  • Dopplers
  • Bladder scanners

🩺 Patient Population & Procedures

You'll have the opportunity to care for patients undergoing a broad range of surgical, procedural, and outpatient services, including:

  • Pre-Op surgical patients
  • Urology
  • GYN
  • Endoscopy
  • Cath Lab
  • Electrophysiology (EP)
  • CT procedures
  • Same-Day Surgery / SDS
  • Outpatient infusions
  • Outpatient EKGs
  • Regional blocks
  • Blood transfusions
  • Phase 2 recoveries

👩‍⚕️ Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive preoperative nursing assessments.
  • Prepare patients for scheduled surgeries and procedures.
  • Verify patient information, orders, medications, allergies, and procedure readiness.
  • Establish IV access and administer medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Monitor patients before and after procedures.
  • Provide Phase 2 recovery care for appropriate outpatient surgical patients.
  • Monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient condition.
  • Assist with preparation for procedures, blocks, transfusions, and other services.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and discharge instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, procedural teams, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech.
  • Promote patient safety and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Follow hospital policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards.


🎓 Required Qualifications

Must Have

  • Minimum 1 year of current acute-care Pre-Op RN hospital experience
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • Active RN license applicable to the assignment
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care

  • Previous Pre-Op / PACU / Same-Day Surgery / Ambulatory Surgery experience
