Job Description

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Inpatient OB Services department. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, provide infant care, administer medications, and maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient conditions.
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized plans of care.
• Provide direct nursing care to OB patients and infants.
• Administer medications according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Accurately document all patient care in the EMR.
• Complete all required unit competencies.
• Maintain patient and staff safety and report or correct safety hazards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Provide compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care.
• Utilize critical thinking and sound nursing judgment when responding to changes in patient condition.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Active Illinois RN License
• BLS – AHA
• NRP – AHA
• Strong experience with patient assessment, infant care, medication administration, and EMR documentation

Schedule

• Start Date: 09/07/2026
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours/week
• 3 × 12-hour shifts
• Must sign up for required weekends
• Minimum of 5 Friday or Saturday night shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Must work 2 Sunday night shifts per 6-week schedule period
• Federal holidays may be required
